Beat Writer’s Block By Writing On Your Phone
Do you hate wasting time?
I certainly do.
But nothing irks me more than staring at a screen half-written, knowing I can finish it, but unsure how to continue.
As my mind turns from brainstorming to braindraining, I inevitably find myself forgetting the reason why my writing is important and merits completing.
Fifteen minutes turn to thirty, which can turn into an hour — time that would have been better spent watching a show to get my money’s worth out of that Amazon Prime subscription rather than pretending to write.
Sometimes your mind goes blank, your creativity drains, and your energy dries up. Although taking a break and coming back sometimes works, that approach is unhelpful when on a deadline.
Instead, try writing the rest on your phone. Most of us text regularly and have become quite adept at forming witty prose and hammering it out with our thumbs on the fly.
If working in Google Drive, close your laptop and open the app on your phone.
If, by chance, you’re using software without an app, email the document to yourself, copy it in your phone and paste it into your phone’s memo pad.
