GenX is far worse than Boomers.
Sure, they worked hard to get where they are today. But they had a clearly-defined system to work in. In other words, you do X, you get X-job. You do well in X-job, you move up and make X-amount of money. The failure of GenX was in failing to keep up with the times and raise its kids to succeed in the outsourcing/digitized economy.
Encouraging your kids to go to college, even if it meant going into massive debt, then failing to be your kids' guidance counselor as they picked their majors, minors, and planned internships, put Millennials in the dire straits we’re in. Your parents prepared you to succeed in the world you came of age in. Your generation failed your kids in that regard. So, don’t go whining if an overqualified cashier spends her time at work with earpods in. She might be listening to a self-help podcast to give her the education to get out of that shitty job she wouldn’t be in in the first place if her GenX parents hadn’t sucked at parenting.
