I actually enjoy Umair’s articles, and I was at that rally. His pessimism brings out the intellectual bankruptcy that is utopian universalism. I read all of his articles, because a) I’m just a swell guy and like to throw a few shekels through my subscription at anyone I can and b) I’m an ideological sadist. I revel in the despairing wallowing of leftist utopians, who have realized their ideal world will never become reality, but persist anyway in their dreamy fantasies.
