I believe Trump SHOULD have made US aid explicitly contingent on Ukraine’s reopening the Burisma investigation to determine whether our last vice-president abused his office. We’re going to show up en masse and reelect President Trump because we elected him, in part, to conduct foreign policy through intermediaries like Rudy Giuliani and bypass the career bureaucrats in the State Department. The president, be he Obama or Trump, is supposed to conduct foreign policy at his sole discretion, and that includes making any stipulations regarding countries' receiving tax dollars that Congress authorized.
