I prefer we take what little the unproductive poor have and give it to the rich for being productive members of society.

Raise the Earned Income Tax Credit to the poverty line, then start everyone at 20 percent, lowering it as people’s income rises. Anything you make north of $10 million should be tax-free. This would incentivize everyone to make more money, and society as a whole would become wealthier.
