Trump couldn’t get to the bottom of it and the Poroshenko administration’s support for Clinton in 2016 until Zalensky beat Poroshenko in April.

Poroshenko lost on April 22, and Biden just happened to jump into the race on April 25, knowing doing so would make it look like Trump was using his office to help his reelection if he looked into Biden’s corruption regarding Ukraine.
