Thank God It’s Monday Rather Than TGIF
“I can’t wait for this weekend to end, so I can go back to work, on Monday,” said few people ever.
Most who work Monday through Friday look forward to the weekends. The rest and leisure they enjoy from 5 pm Friday until bedtime Sunday help make their jobs worth it.
But what if, instead of dreading getting to work on Monday and spending the week looking forward to Friday, we treated Monday as the most important day of the week?
Did last week stink? No worries! Start Monday with a clean slate.
Was last week great? Fantastic! Get a head start on an even better week by starting Monday strong.
In the internet age — and with so many employed in the service industry — the traditional 8–5 workweek is less relevant than in the past. But according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, two-thirds of working Americans still only work Monday through Friday.
Planning personal progress is easier if we view our lives as a series of weeks. This is why I’m no fan of New Year’s Resolutions. To me, a whole year is just too long to plan personal development.
Whether you’re a student, employee, or self-employed, Monday morning makes a great time to break out of the gate at a sprint and make up for any slacking or mistakes you may have made last week.
