The Democratic Party IS elitist. Look at the zip codes with the highest earners. They’re overwhelmingly blue. Look at zip codes with average incomes under $50,000. Most of them are red. Hollywood, academia, Wall Street, the bureaucratic/govt contractor elite in the DC suburbs all want a return to the Bush/Clinton status quo. They oppose populism of any kind because to them, everything’s fine.
